Results: EKG Club Championship 2022 (13-Feb)
The Emirates Group Club Championship was again played in great spirits at the Trump International. It was a windy day, played from the back tee boxes which made scoring difficult and, as always, it was a close fought game with three players evenly matched vying for the main, gross prize on the last two holes. John McGuinness, Dominic Breach and Tim Collins were all 4-over par on the 17th tee box, though a poor shot from Dominic gave him a double bogey on the 17th, par three whilst both John and Tim, who though also both three-putted for bogey, were now one head. Unfortunately none of the players were able to make par on the difficult par 4, eighteenth and thus the spoils went to John McGuinness (+6) who edged Tim Collins on a count-back on the back nine. Dominic was a further shot adrift.
The nett division was won by Neil Lakhani, who carded his third best score of all time - after only playing golf for a year, his handicap has tumbled and edged out Dermot Bell on a count-back. Both players had 36 points. Congratulations to all the winners on the day!
