The Summer has arrived and with it the first round of the Summer Challenge - the event to keep the Society bachelors busy during the next few months!
There were some good scores - I have posted the top ten below, but am tracking the rest for the final of the Summer Challenge:
| 02 Jun | 07 Jul | 01 Sep | 28 Sep | Overall | ||
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Archie Gemmell | 11 | 38 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 38 |
| Dave Ladd-Thomas | 18 | 37 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 37 |
| Erwan Testard | 2 | 35 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 35 |
| Gavin Hitzeroth | 11 | 34 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 34 |
| Frank Bishop | 9 | 34 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 34 |
| Mike Belt | 7 | 34 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 34 |
| Steve Allen | 12 | 34 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 34 |
| Craig Williams | 7 | 33 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 33 |
| Paul Nightingale | 2 | 32 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 32 |
| Amrith Kumar | 9 | 32 | 0 | 0 | 0 | 32 |
So, congratulations to Archie with his winning 38 points, followed closely by David. Erwan took third-place, though all players are still in with a shot (best three of four rounds). Round 2 is at the Creek next month - we hope to see you all there.
We should also mention that we did get get a complaint from the Emirates Golf Club that over half of our four balls were significantly behind time and due to this there were many complaints from their Members. As such, it puts the organisers in a very difficult position - they don’t need our business at the weekend. So, in the next events there will be more emphasis on completing rounds in the required time - if we don’t all adhere to this, there will be more pressure on us to get the bookings at these premier courses.
