Tim Collins and Madhu Ramaswarmy won this year\'s impressive Airbus event with 42 points. In (very!!) close second was the Captain, Iain Lachlan, and Adrian Hayes of Airbus who had the same score, but lost out on the countback. Third place went to Doug Cameron and Bob Everest with 40 points.
Nearest the pin prizes went to Tim Burnell and Mike Wells, whilst Tim Collins won the longest drive and Brett Carnell won the straightest drive. Well done all, and again many thanks to Adrian and Airbus for an excellent day out at the Majlis. Not a bad start to 2005!!!

Dear Member,
In the past we have not been charged by the golf clubs for late cancellations and no shows. Unfortunately at our last event the cost of unused tee slots was passed onto the society. It is unfair that the society should be responsible to pay these costs. The committee has decided for future events these costs will now be passed onto the respective member. To alleviate any confusion we have listed in italics below rules governing cancellations and no shows.
All cancellations, both member\'s and guest\'s should be given 36 hours prior to the event. After this time if a replacement can not be found and the society is charged for the No Show this charge will be forwarded to the member concerned. If a member or guest does not show for an event and the society is charged, this charge will be forwarded to the member. Please note a member is considered responsible for their guest and any charges relating to the guest will be forwarded.
We understand that there are reasons outside the control of a member as to why he or she may not turn up on the day. If there is a legitimate reason we would appreciate the member contacting the committee and consideration will be given towards waiving any charges.
Regards,
Emirates Golf Society
Committee

Congratulations to Iain Lachlan who won an enthralling club championship with a gross 78. He was hotly pursued by Craig McBride who shot an inspired 79, missing out by one shot.... The net division was won by Darryl Atkins, who managed to play to his handicap and shoot a net 72! Well done to all, and many thanks to our sponsors, Emirates Flight Catering for a great day out at the Montgomerie....

In total, there were 32 golfers taking part with wins for the Emirates teams of Paul Napper / Malcolm Habron and Dave Summerson / Damien Bolton. The Emirates Team, captained on the day by Dave Gould, just came up short with the final result of the match 4.5 points to DCC and 3.5 points to Emirates. The result meant that Dubai Country Club retain the challenge Trophy until next year.
