The new course at the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club provided a great environment to host this years Fedex Day - all players seemed to agree the course is a significant improvement from the previous one.

The winners on the day were the mixed team of Warren Panting, Vanessa North, Gary Jones and Elizabeth Jones who scored 88 points. Following a similar trend the mixed teams of Murray Young, Amanda Young, Cees van Dooren and Maria van Dooren came a close second with 86 points. In third place, with 83 points, were the team comprising Sat Sembi, Bob Atkins, Madhu Ramaswarmy and Anthony Lidell. To finish off the prizes, the nearest the pin vouchers went to Bruce Watson and Ian Leader.

Many thanks again to Fedex, who provided a wonderful day out for the Society and who continue to support us so well!

The Boeing Day continues to be one of the highlights in our Society\'s calendar. The Winning team this year consisted of Sunimal Fernando, Anthony Liddel, David Mitchell and Amanda Young with 92 points. Runners-up with 91 points were Mike Woolsey, Murray Young, John Wilby and Iain Leader. A further point adrift were the team of Jim Pugh, Ronnie Mac, Chris van Zyl and Michael Mac. There were also many individual winners on the day as we had a longest drive (Shona McRae), straightest drive (John Reavy) and nearest the pin on all par-threes (2-Anthony Liddel, 7-Sandy Crawford, 12-Ian Leader, and 17-Nick Marriott). Congratulations to the winners and a thankyou to all those taking part. We would like to give a special mention to Boeing who, yet again, hosted another wonderful event at the Desert Course, Arabian Ranches.

Due to the poor uptake in registrations for this Thursdays event at Nad Al Sheba, it has been decided to use the Society funds to provide more sponsorship to future events, which have currently generated substantially more interest.

If you wish to play using one of the reserved slots, please contact Iain Lachlan\'s secretary, Marina Satish, on 2245678 or by email no later than noon 31 Feb who will forward your name to the Nad al Sheba reservation team.

We sincerely hope that this does not cause a major inconvenience to your weekend golfing plans, however the Committee unanimously felt that Society funds could be better distributed in other, more popular events, such as the upcoming event at Ras al Khamiah.
