\r\nLate July saw ten intrepid golfers from Emirates and three caddies [wives] set out for the wilds of Scotland to take part in WAGA 2005. The younger members of the party thought this was Women and Golf whilst the older members interpreted it as Whine and Golf.

All agreed that what happens on tour stays on tour and therefore I am unable to spill the beans, however let it be said an enjoyable time was had by all. The weather which was a fresh 15 degrees on the first day in weak sunshine turned to an even fresher 10 degrees in liquid sunshine for the last two days of competition. Even this could not dampen the spirits of our intrepid golfers and glasses or orange juice and lemonade were raised at the end of the week to toast the spirit of Emirates.

As a team Emirates performed reasonably well against the elements and the obvious bandits from other airlines. Within the group we played each day for the honour of wearing the See You Jimmy hat for the lowest stapleford score. To see Nick whilst your up mine is a? Marriott wearing the tartan bonnet on a wet day with raindrops hanging off his strawberry blonde locks was a sight to be seen. Chris If I win this hat three times can I keep it? Rademan and Anthony open your mouth wide whilst I put my foot in it Liddell also managed to fight off the other Emirates members for the honour of wearing the tartan bonnet. Fair to say each had their share !

Speaking of tartan another sight to be seen was Iain we dont wear anything under the kilt Lachlan swirling round the dance floor with Val I am just nipping out for a quick fag Everest to the sounds of the Gay Gordon. It was especially interesting when Iain twirled his kilt with an abandonment never seen before.

[For those of you who are unsure what a Gay Gordon is it is a dance not an effeminate Scotsman].

Mike are you sure its my round Woosley and David hes a lovely boy Loftus were our most successful pair finishing a credible 6th overall in the pairs competition. Young Loftus also achieved third place in the Best Gross Scratch competition with Iain 4th and Tim I am getting ready for my wedding Burnell 5th. Many of the team wondered at Young Davids staying power to play golf all day and Keep Discovering the Scottish lassies at night.

The other members of the team included, Darryl I am off to bed early Atkins, Bob one for the elevator Everest, and Kader I make my own sandwiches from the buffet Tazerout.

Yours truly has the photos that will NOT appear on the website and I can be bribed either by wives, girlfriends or the golfers themselves.

Regards, Bob Everest.

Congratulations to Sat Sembi who beat Doug Cameron on a windy day at the Ranches. The final result was 2 and 1, so it seems like a pretty close game!
