Dear All,

Due to planned maintenance taking significantly longer than anticipated at the Dubai Creek Golf & Yacht Club, only 9 holes will be open when we were planning to play the first two events of the Summer Challenge. Based on this, we were offered alternatives - in June we were offered the the Majlis; the Faldo for our July event, both of which which we have accepted - the dates remain unchanged as does the cost, however, the starting time is now 0730 (which is probably better in this heat!). August and September remain unchanged. We have 32 spaces available at both events.

Nearest-the-pins were won by Paul Nightingale (4th) and Kader Tazerout (16th).

We have organised another Summer Challenge event this year, though as we have managed to secure some great rates from the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club, it will be hosted there. Due to this, we can price each of the games very aggressively - Dhs 160 for EGS members and Dhs 240 for guests. Furthermore, if you are a member of the Creek (either as a “Full” or “Summer” member), the cost will only be Dhs 50.

However, there are some caveats…. We do need a minimum of 24 people at each event and thus need to know the enthusiasm for playing - last year, we did struggle getting members to play during the Summer for a variety of reasons. By now, you should hopefully know your Summer plans and so we are hoping that you are able to commit (or otherwise) at this early stage - FYI, we need to confirm/commit to the Creek by the end of May. Therefore, if you are likely to play at these events, could you please register so we can plan accordingly. Thanks (in advance) for your assistance!

As a recap, the Summer Challenge Champion will the person with the best nett two scores from the four events. There will be individual prizes for each event also.
