Congratulations to the team of Paul Nightingale and Gavin Lewis who beat Conleth Kelly and Paul Marson on a count back at Sharjah on Friday - both teams scored an excellent 46 points. Third-place went to the pairing of Tim Collins and Jannie Ebersohn on 42 points (winning on a count back from Steve and Rachel Allen)\r\n

It was a fitting win for Paul, who was playing his last Emirates Golf Society event - he will be returning to sunny Wales in the early New Year. He has been a consistent winner and a key part of the Society for 15 years, serving as Treasurer for nearly all this time. Thank-you Paul, congratulations on your win and all the best for your return to the UK.

Back at Al Zorah for a second time this summer, the weather had thankfully improved. Although the early start meant battling through the fog and a humid early start. As the club were still not collecting cards due to COVID restrictions, we have used net scores from TheGrint to determine the winners, as a one-off measure.

  • John Mosely took the top spot with a net 69 on countback.
  • Also with a net 69 but coming second on countback was Seb Hall.
  • In third place after another countback was Tim Collins.

There were no NTP\'s at this event due to the ever-present restrictions in place.

A glorious morning at Sharjah gave us all a taste of the good weather fast approaching. The course was in excellent condition and there were some excellent scores, despite the enormous drive through testing centre providing an unpleasant distraction! The club collected the scorecards and the winners were based on Stableford points as usual.

  • Paul Gingell came in first with 39 Stableford points.
  • Two points behind on 37 was Con Lillis.
  • In third place a further point behind was James Walters.

There were no NTP\'s at this event as the club host their own buy-in pool at weekends.
